‧搭乘高雄捷運列車前來者，請於紅線橋頭糖廠站（R22A）2 或 3 號出口離站，右轉往糖廠舊宿舍區方向直行約 350 公尺即達活動位置。
‧搭乘火車者，請於橋頭車站下車，出站後左轉沿鐵路邊的小路直行，於第三個平交道路口左轉，遇興糖路口（左邊為糖廠側門）時右轉，往糖廠舊宿舍區方向直行到底即可。

‧這是一門學生的實習演練課程
．也是一場追逐理想的生命歷程

在講求文化資產與古蹟保存維護的現今，建築體本身不僅成為保護的對象，同時也為文化價值張力呈現不可或缺一的表徵。而近期位於高雄市橋頭區，橋頭糖廠內一處高齡近75歲的日式職員宿舍居然被迫面臨拆除的危機？
不忍現存極少數百分百原汁原味傳統日式建築即將消失，國立高雄大學都市發展與建築研究所的師生們與橋仔頭文史協會決定付諸行動，並在欲拆除之「興糖15巷日式宿舍」中舉辦對外活動，使社區居民、附近各級學校教職員生與參訪遊客等，藉由活動內容輕聲喚起橋頭糖廠內寶貴的歷史記憶與重新認識日式傳統木造建築與工法。

This is our new project in Kaohsiung. The buildings, which are more than 90 years old(it was built sometime between 1900 and 1940), are located on Shintong Road in the Ciaotou district in an exclusive downtown business area. One of the buildings in the dormitory complex has been designated by the city as historic relic, while 3 others have been listed as historic monuments. The property, which is partly owned by Taiwan Sugar Corporation, is the city's first protected cultural asset that comprises a group of buildings.

The dormitory buildings once came under threat as the area became more developed, but local residents and cultural activists were unyielding in their efforts to preserve the complex and the many surrounding big old trees, according to the city department. The site was designated as a protected zone in 1999.

Under the restoration project, one of the wooden houses designated as a historic monument will first be dismantled because of serious structural damage, then it will be restored to its original appearance, according to the city's Department of Cultural Affairs. The residents in the area already have plans to develop a cultural creative industry in the complex that was built in the era of Japanese colonial occupation to provide accommodation for Japanese officials. And the director of the department will invite local residents to help manage the building after the restoration work is completed.
