二十一世紀以網路與資訊科技領導著全球新數位時代的來臨，當代的科技對於都市設計、建築設計、工業設計整合產生革命性的機會。建築議題探討、創造、模型製作、空間生產完全有著全新的平台。建築不應屬於任何一個形式流派，但卻應與新時代的脈動巧妙契合，運用各種新材料和工法，充分反映建築技術的進步與清楚的設計概念。建築也應視為尊重環境道德的專業，建築與環境的關係轉化成空間的詩意。建築追求新時代意義的同時也反思與大地和諧關係的重要性。如何以新思維、新作法面對新世紀的到來。在永續發展的前提下，如何保持自然與科技兩者之間的平衡，成為當下人類必須面對的挑戰。建築與環境和地景融合日趨明顯，主、客的關係日漸模糊。舊有材料重新被定義、發現新材料、回收材料、臨時性材料、自然素材、 數位媒體減弱了建築形體的主導性。建築一方面追求數位化帶來形式與構造全然的解放，另一方面又回到大自然搜尋可供轉化的創造基因。交大建築展2009 NcTu Architecture將展出交大建築所師生與台灣最具創意能量的兩位建築師：邱文傑、黃聲遠的創意與作品。

The 21st century is the era of networking and digital technology. The contemporary technologies provide us the revolutionary opportunity to integrated urban design, architectural design, and industrial design. Architecture should not belong to any style, but it should utilize new technologies and new material. Architecture also should regard as the environmental moral actions. How to maintain the balance between nature and technologies becomes severe challenge. 2009 NcTu Architecture will exhibit the creativity and works of our students and faculties including the most promising Taiwanese architects Prof. Jay W. Chiu and Prof. Huang Sheng-yuan.
